- when someone brushes your hair back from your eyes absently as they are talking to you
- finding an entire album that you can listen to without skipping tracks (Massive Attack “Mezzanine”)
- getting off a plane at the airport and your someone is waiting for you, beaming
- getting the messy bun right the first time
- making eye contact that inexplicably sends that zing feeling down your spine
- grabbing a doorknob in the winter time and NOT getting shocked
- feeling brazen and unstoppable as you leave the hair salon
YOUR TURN! I am dying to hear your “one little thing” in the comments below.

July 26, 2014 at 9:03 pm (10 years ago)When the person who took a shower before you hangs your dry towel up on the rack so it’s ready for you.
When your man or woman fills your gas tank up when he/she knows you are getting ready to go somewhere and it’s empty.
When you get a random text from a friend that they love you and miss you.

October 9, 2014 at 2:08 pm (10 years ago)the first spring day when you can wear shorts. a hug or even just an arm around the shoulder when you are really down. a hot bowl of wonton soup on a cold winter day. the smell of fresh bread. watching the scenery roll by while on a plane/train/bus. laughing that is so hard that it literally hurts. the way it gets really quiet and still right before it snows. the smell of asphalt right after a hard summer rain. the nap that you didn’t plan to take, but just happens. the long shadows you make on the beach at sunset (or sunrise).
